Payment and Refund Policy
Last updated: 02 November 2026
Scope of This Policy
This Payment and Refund Policy applies to all payments made for courses and related services offered by detailsio. The services covered include professional training programmes focused on live television production, such as studio equipment integration, dynamic camera techniques, acoustic optimisation, lighting setups, and production processes for news programmes, interviews, and live shows. It governs transactions for both online digital courses and any in-person or hybrid sessions delivered from our United Kingdom base.
Prices, Currencies, Taxes and Additional Charges
All prices are listed in British Pounds Sterling. Course fees include applicable value added tax at the current United Kingdom rate. No hidden charges apply unless clearly stated at checkout. Where international participants are involved, any import duties or local taxes remain the responsibility of the purchaser and are not included in the displayed price.
Accepted Payment Methods, Authorisation and Security
We accept major credit and debit cards, bank transfers, and selected digital wallets. Payment is authorised at the time of booking. All transactions are processed through secure third-party gateways that comply with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards. detailsio does not store card details.
Order Confirmation and Contract Formation
A binding contract forms once we send a written confirmation email after receiving full payment or a valid booking request. This confirmation outlines the specific course dates, access credentials for digital content, and any applicable terms.
Cancellation Rights and Periods
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations, consumers have a 14-day cooling-off period from the date of contract formation. Cancellation within this window entitles the participant to a full refund, provided no course materials have been accessed or downloaded. For services commencing within the cooling-off period, the right to cancel may be lost once performance begins with explicit consent.
Refund Eligibility, Exclusions and Non-Refundable Items
Refunds are available for cancellations made before course commencement, subject to the 14-day cooling-off rules. Once digital content has been accessed or a course has started, refunds are generally not provided except where required by law. Non-refundable items include promotional discounts already applied and any third-party materials supplied.
Step-by-Step Refund Request Procedure
To request a refund, contact us in writing via the contact form on our site or by emailing [email protected]. Include your full name, order reference number, course title, and reason for the request. Requests must be submitted within the applicable time limits.
Inspection, Approval, Rejection and Notification
Each refund request is reviewed within ten working days. We assess eligibility against the terms above and notify the applicant by email of the decision. If rejected, the email explains the grounds and any options for appeal or alternative resolution.
Refund Method, Processing Time and Receipt of Funds
Approved refunds are returned using the original payment method. Processing typically takes five to ten working days after approval, though bank transfer times may vary. Funds should appear in the customer account within fourteen days of our confirmation email.
Special Rules for Digital Content, Subscriptions and Services
Digital courses are treated as digital content. Access is granted immediately upon payment, which may affect cancellation rights. Subscription renewals follow the same refund rules unless cancelled before the renewal date. Promotional offers are non-transferable and subject to the same eligibility criteria.
Failed Payments, Duplicate Charges, Chargebacks and Fraud
Failed payments must be resolved within seven days or the booking may be cancelled. Duplicate charges are investigated and refunded promptly upon verification. Chargebacks are treated as disputes and may result in restricted future access. Suspected fraud leads to immediate account suspension and referral to relevant authorities.
Mandatory Consumer Rights
Nothing in this policy affects statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, UK GDPR, or the Consumer Contracts Regulations. These rights cannot be excluded and take precedence over any conflicting terms.
